Wajibika, which means, “be accountable” in Swahili is a systemic civic advocacy organization established in 2013. It is envisioned on realization of Better Society for All. The mission is to ensure public governance systems are strengthened. Strategically, Wajibika promotes human rights and good governance through evidence-based advocacy.
Our remit is to influence systemic change through social accountability initiatives on areas around environment, economies and the essential public service sectors of education, health and water. In achieving that, two programmes were envisaged; the Social Service Governance Programme (SSGP) and the Environment and Economic Governance Programme (EEGP).
These programmes were essentially designed to complement one another in addressing systemic issues across the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
