Overview

Wajibika means “Be Accountable” in Swahili, is a systemic civic advocacy organization established in 2013. It envisions on realization of a Better Society for All. Wajibika contribute to poverty alleviation through governance and accountability systems strengthening.

The organization promotes community systems strengthening to end poverty. Wajibika believe that all people deserve better life, every human being has right to dignity. We promote systems that eliminates social injustice, ignorance and diseases to improve livelihood. Together, we change lives and protect marginalized people. We work with youth, adolescents, girls and young women to build better lives.

Our goal is to ensure there is no poverty for all people in Tanzania. The interventions are designed to achieve three governance outcomes: Accountable Citizens – for a society where youth and women fulfill their obligations and responsibilities to eliminate social injustices, ignorance and diseases; Inclusive Governance – for the governance structures that embrace youth, women and marginalized people in the decision-making processes; and Responsive Systems – where education, health and agriculture systems respond to the needs of all people, especially meet satisfaction of girls and young women at maximum available resources.
